Investigating Opioid and Alcohol Risk and Misuse Among Agricultural Workers

January 23, 2020

Farmers may be at higher risk for substance use disorders (SUDs) due to higher rates of injuries, stress, and lack of awareness of danger of SUDs. According the CDC, rates of drug overdoses are rising in rural areas, surpassing rates in urban areas. The January 2020 SCCAHS webinar speaker, Christine Chasek, describes addiction as a disorder that encompasses mind, body and spirit. Chasek’s research encompasses topics related to addiction counseling, attitudes of providers about addictions counseling, counselor preparation and clinical outcomes.

On January 23, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Eastern, we invite you to join us for a SCCAHS webinar as Dr. Christine Chasek discusses opioid and alcohol use and misuse among agricultural populations.
