This webinar will include an overview of the United States Department of Agriculture National Farm Security Action Plan and explore how the public views farm security and its role in national resilience, highlighting key findings from a 2025 survey of southeastern U.S. residents. Results reveal that while more than half of respondents are unfamiliar with the term “farm security,” concern related to animal-borne diseases is high. Participants will learn which threats the public prioritizes, including agroterrorism and water shortages, and which investments they support, such as rural infrastructure. Join us to better understand public opinion and how it can inform Extension outreach, education, and policy conversations.
