Webinar on Agricultural Risk Management Now Available

The Southeastern Coastal Center for Agricultural Health and Safety’s webinar titled “An Overview of Risk Management and General Liability Insurance,” led by Dr. Martie Gillen, is now available. The webinar serves as a resource for navigating the complex world of risk management and provides tools to help agricultural managers properly assess production, market, financial, legal, and human risks in agricultural production, as well as providing an overview of liability insurance options.

Gillen is an associate professor at the University of Florida in the Department of Family, Youth, and Community Sciences. She also serves as a co-investigator on the outreach core for SCCAHS, with research interests in personal finance, decision making, at-risk populations, and trauma.

SCCAHS is part of a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) / National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Agricultural Health and Safety Initiative. SCCAHS explores and addresses the occupational safety and health needs of people working in agriculture, fishing, and forestry in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The goal of the SCCAHS is to provide occupational safety and health education for agriculture, forestry and fisheries industries workers through evidence-based, tested safety and health programs.
