Effectiveness and Implementation of Pain Self-Management for Horticulture Workers | June 4 @ 11 A.M. Eastern

June 4, 2024

While low back pain (LBP) is highly prevalent and potentially disabling, few intervention studies to mitigate LBP have been conducted in the labor-intensive agriculture sectors, and no evidence-based intervention studies exist specific to horticulture workers. Furthermore, evidence from previous work indicated a high incidence of opioid use attributed to work-related injury or stress. In this upcoming webinar, learn about an ongoing study that is investigating the effectiveness of self-management strategies to increase awareness of opioid risk, manage pain, and adjust work-related ergonomic risk to address this high-priority public health problem. Drs. Kim Dunleavy and Janine Blythe will share about this study with the goals of helping mitigate pain positively to improve quality of life, productivity, and retention, as well as increase non-pharmacological self-management for occupational workers.
